Welcome to the 99 Strides - Brisbane Marathon prep plan. The program is for people who have some running experience and would like to complete the half or full Brisbane marathon on the 7th of June. You will be completing 3 runs per week in the lead up to the marathon. This allows some wriggle room if you miss a day you can catch it up. We will try and organise 1 group run per week. The program has pacing guides based on people who can maintain a 6min/km pace but that is just a guideline. The pace is less important than the structure. The goal is to finish. The program encourages 2 strength sessions per week. This is critical for injury prevention as your running volume increases. If you DO NOT have a strength program please let me know. Nutrition is also going to be vital. If you need guidance in this area, I can recommend some excellent sports dietitians. I’m so excited to help you reach the finish line!
